Henry the Donkey is named after his home county, Henry County, Illinois. He made his parade debut at the Galva fourth of July parade in 2011. He was made by Cowpainters, in Chicago, Illinois. He was painted by Betty Murphy, (in Henry County) using materials purchased from and, to some extent, made by Dick Blick, in Galesburg, Illinois. As much as was possible, everything used to decorate him was made in Illinois. (Which is in the United States, by the way).

Betty Murphy & Cliff Sack help Henry get ready for his first time in a parade!

There is much to be done to be ready to parade! Again, Betty & Cliff help Henry to get his hair & makeup right. They still have to get his hat, beard and neckerchief ready.

Ready to Rock & Roll!

All Paint & Brushes made in the good ol’ USA
